Abraham's Garden (Upgrading)
The Abraham Garden was designed and built in 1940 by the City of Ramat Gan’s landscape architect, Mr. Moshe Kveshni. The garden spans approximately 15 dunams and is located on both sides of Sharett Street, at one of the highest points in the city. It slopes dramatically to both the east and the west.
In 2020, our office began working on renovating/upgrading the eastern garden. All the work was done as a conservation project and was performed under the supervision of the municipality's conservation department.
Due to the garden's challenging topography, only one path (out of many) was approved for accessibility to the general public. This path leads all visitors from an accessible point south of the garden, through all the attractions and points of interest that were restored and upgraded. These include the magical corner, the small bridge and waterfall, the amphitheatre, the bird pond, the butterfly garden, and play areas for different age groups.
The garden walls, vegetation, water systems were renovated, unique playground equipment was added, and seating areas were integrated in the spirit of the old garden, creating intimate corners hidden among the greenery. Memorial corners were developed for Bialik, Krinitzi and his wife Freida.
All of these are accompanied by a system of explanatory signage, making a stroll through the garden a unique and enriching experience.
